CHILD PROTECTION AND SAFEGUARDING STATEMENT

We take Child Protection issues extremely seriously and will take relevant significant action when appropriate.

Parents and carers need to be aware that in the event of a member of staff suspecting that a pupil may have been deliberately harmed or neglected by his or her parents, carers or others, the nursery has a duty to inform the local Safeguarding Team Manager. Parents and carers may or may not be informed of this, depending on the circumstances and in the best interests of the child. If the Team Manager shares the Nursery’s concern, he or she will contact the Police to agree the best way of carrying out an investigation.

These procedures, which take account of guidance issued by Central Government are described in detail in the Nursery’s Child Protection and Safeguarding Policies, copies of which you are welcome to look at in Nursery. We feel sure you will realise that these safeguards are necessary to ensure the welfare of all children, and that referrals have to be made in cases where harm to a child is suspected.

Health & Safety

We are always safety conscious at Amazing Footprints Nursery. The internal main door has a security lock, which prevents unwanted access from the reception area.

A tall security fence surrounds our premises and children are unable to leave the building/grounds. The children only play outside when accompanied by a qualified adult and they are properly supervised at all times.

The nursery has CCTV which covers the front, side and rear of the building and the children’s playground. All classrooms also have CCTV recording in place. This feed a live images to a monitor in the office.
